Rob Pillinger, South Carolina Trial Attorney & Partner at Harrison Pillinger

PARTNER

ROB

PILLINGER

Rob Pillinger is a South Carolina trial attorney known for his steady presence, plainspoken counsel, and ability to guide people through moments when the law becomes overwhelming and the stakes are deeply personal.

Clients come to Rob when clarity matters — not just about the law, but about what happens next and how to move forward.

EARLY CAREER

Rob’s approach is shaped by early, high-stakes experience. After clerking in the judicial system, he began his career as a Public Defender, where he was immediately entrusted with serious felony cases.

Early on, he tried a nationally covered murder case where he, alongside experienced and accomplished counsel, represented an Uber driver charged in a high-profile homicide — matters that carried life-altering consequences and intense public scrutiny. That experience grounded him in the reality that the law is never abstract when someone’s future is on the line.

Those early years taught Rob how quickly a person’s world can narrow to a courtroom, a charge, or a single decision — and how important it is to have an advocate who listens carefully, prepares relentlessly, and explains the process without theater or false reassurance.

Over time, Rob’s practice evolved toward personal injury, probate, estate planning, and select civil matters — work that often arises during periods of crisis, loss, or transition. He is especially skilled at distilling complex legal issues into clear terms, helping clients understand not just their legal options, but the practical implications of each path forward.

“At the end of the day, Clients engage with attorneys for one or more important reason(s). Every time I end a consult, I ask: what’s your goal? What’s your best day in court look like to you?”

BECOMING HARRISON PILLINGER

Rob believes care is not a soft skill, but a discipline. It shows up in preparation, follow-through, and the willingness to stand firm when responsibility is avoided or promises are broken. He is candid with clients about risk, timing, and likely resolution while approaching each matter with the same goal: to leave people in a stronger position than where they started — informed, steadied, and supported.

That commitment extends beyond individual clients. Rob has represented community institutions in complex civil matters, including an AME church case where he continued representation after funding was exhausted and ultimately secured punitive damages at trial — reflecting his belief that advocacy does not stop when circumstances become inconvenient.

Harrison Pillinger reflects Rob’s belief that law should be practiced with intention and accountability. Together with his partner, he helped build a firm focused on fewer clients, deeper involvement, and counsel that is both honest and practical. The result is a practice where clients feel seen, supported, and confident their case is being handled with care and resolve.

“We strip away the fear of the unknown. If you’re in trouble, we’ll fight. If you’ve hit a wall and don’t know where to go next, we’ll provide you with alternative solutions at your disposal.”

ROOTED IN STRENGTH,
GROUNDED IN PURPOSE

Outside of work, Rob enjoys being a devoted uncle to three amazing humans, spending time with his dog, Zoe, and actively participates in his community via charity and involvement in organizations including Helping Hands, Those Who Served Foundation, and the Rainy Day Fund, and values time spent grounded in the Lowcountry — influences that shape his steady, people-first approach to the law.
